About the Project

Major improvements are coming to Indian Canyon Drive! The City of Palm Springs is widening the North Indian Canyon Bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad and improving Indian Canyon Drive immediately south of Garnet Avenue in North Palm Springs.

The new six-lane Indian Canyon bridge will include a railed pedestrian sidewalk, enhancing safety and accessibility. The improvements to Indian Canyon Drive include raising the road and constructing a landscaped median, new sidewalks and drainage, new concrete and asphalt pavement and a sewer upgrade. The City will also be expanding utilities through the newly constructed bridge.

Indian Canyon Drive will remain open while the new bridge and road improvements are constructed. Traffic patterns will vary as north and southbound traffic is shifted to one side and then the other to minimize the impact on commuters.

Construction crews have already begun the preliminary work on Indian Canyon Drive, and the City expects construction to continue through December 2025.
